Presentation of INSPIRE Recommendation Report for CRES and FPHS

Dear Forest Park High School and Calvin M. Rodwell Elementary School Stakeholder,

As you know, Forest Park High School and Calvin M. Rodwell Elementary School are included in the first phase of the 21st Century Schools Initiative. Both of these schools will receive a portion of the nearly one billion dollars available for school renovation/replacement. In an effort to leverage this unprecedented level of investment and to further strengthen the neighborhoods around the schools the Department of Planning has been conducting a planning program called INSPIRE (Investing in Neighborhoods and Schools to Promote Improvement, Revitalization, and Excellence). The goal of INSPIRE is to enhance the connection between the schools and the neighborhoods as well as to identify specific, implementable public improvements in areas such as transportation, housing, and open space.

One of the critical steps in the INSPIRE process is to develop a recommendation report. On Wednesday, September 27th, Department of Planning staff will be presenting the INSPIRE Recommendation Report for CRES and FPHS. The goal of this meeting is to inform stakeholders of the recommendations that are being made and gather feedback to help guide the INSPIRE Plan for Forest Park High School and Calvin M. Rodwell Elementary School.

The presentation will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the second floor library at Calvin M. Rodwell Elementary School (3501 Hillsdale Road). If you have any questions, Chad Hayes be reached at chad.hayes@baltimorecity.gov or 410-396-3958. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you on September 27th.
